In Taipei this week and wanted a brunch.. So we stopped on at the Golden Lion for dim sum. A great selection of all the usual dim sum items. Very tasty.

The restaurant is located on the 10th floor and is a very lovely and busy spot. Service was fast. We were seated immediately and the dim sum carts came by frequently with all our favorite items.

It's a nosy place so don't plan a romantic rendezvous. But if you want really great dim sum this is your place. Five stars!

It started nice and pretty at first, but everything goes south when you start eating. The fish it's definitely not fresh. The oil they used for deep frying could be weeks old for all I know because it left a very bad taste the entire day afterward. Now about the service, it's all smile and yes when you ask for anything, but nothing actually delivered. The floor is greasy, and so is the chair. The locals seem to enjoy the place, but I regretted going.
