Keep in mind this is NOT an AYCE (吃到飽) restaurant. Despite that, we decided to come to this restaurant, since it seems to be a very popular hotpot restaurant.

We waited about 25 minutes to be seated for lunch. It's absolutely beautiful inside, complete with a gorgeous fountain in the center with red candles floating upon the water. Wow, it made for a gorgeous ambiance while eating delicious hotpot.

The menu is all in Chinese, so me, being an uneducated American heathen, had to enlist the help of my mom and uncle to help me read and pick out what I wanted. Taichung certainly isn't as touristy as Taipei, hence the lack of English here.

Despite not being an AYCE restaurant, we were certainly stuffed and satisfied. While it was good hotpot, I felt like this place was more for the location and enjoying the interior of the restaurant than just the food. Food was great, but not up there with my favorite and memorable hotpot places. Still, if you're in Taichung and want to give this place a try, go ahead!

輕井澤鍋之物 is a hotpot place and this place is a hot place to come! They are known for their hotpot, but mainly it's because of their interior decoration. A lot of young people come here to chat with their friends or their girlfriend and boyfriend. I came here on a Saturday and this place was packed! It is best if you make a reservation since it is so popular. When you make a reservation see if you can schedule to sit right next to the fountain. They have a huge fountain inside. I give it a 5/5 for the interior design.

In terms of food, it is pretty fresh. The cost is about NT $ 300-400, which is around $10. You get vegetables, tofu, choice of meat, cabbage, and more. You can order side hot pot sides such as meatball, and squash etc. They are extra. The service was pretty fast and friendly. There is no 10% of service fee as well. Overall, I would recommend this place to other people.

Honestly I'd say a 3.5 stars even though I really want to give 4. It's a really large restaurant but super popular and busy so it's usually always packed and a 30mins to an hour wait time is pretty common. They offered us warm tea after we waited for a good 30mins but still didn't know when we would get a spot, since it was a bit chilly and slightly windy earlier. I'm surprised and maybe a little terrified but also curious to why they need so many cameras in and outside of the restaurant. There is also a camera per table..which is odd. A chain restaurant that's decent but not the best I've had. Okay prices, good salary for the staffs, clean place, and friendly staffs. Semi loud and sometimes they run out of pots and use other ones. The design of certain pots aren't good so if you turn the heat to medium (boils a little but not crazy) the soup still spills everywhere no matter what but if you turn it slightly lower then it doesn't boil anymore and it takes everything forever to cook. A bit of a dilemma to whether turn it to medium or low. The offer Apple vinegar to help with digestion after the meal which is nice. The exterior and interior designs are both nice and I'd say it's a nice atmosphere. I had a really nice experience but it's just not a place I'd frequent or particularly recommend. If I'm around the area I don't mind coming although there's tons of amazing restaurants around too, but it's definitely not a place I'd travel all the way for. Not wow factor or anything memorable. Closes really late though

This is a hotpot restaurant I highly recommend. It's a chain, so if you can't visit this store, you can go to other locations.

About at the cost of $10 USD, this restaurant provides outstanding hotpot dishes. Their thin-sliced beef is a lot thinner than other hotpot restaurants I've visited, and it's the reason I will be visiting this chain business again in the future.

Servers here are courteous and attentive. Ingredients are fresh. Dining environment is clean with superior interior design. No charge of tips and service fee. I was very satisfied during my 1st visit at this restaurant with their food, service, environment and price. They serve each customer an individual hotpot. When you order your choice of hotpot, it normally will come with a set of meat, a set of vegetables, rice, a cup of black tea and a smoothie.

I don't recall if they have menus in English. You will need to ask. By the way, after you mark down your desired dishes on the menu, you need to go to the cashier to pay for the bill before they serve you food.
