OMG their LUO BO GAO! 蘿蔔糕!!! hahahaha it's probably THE thing we have to order whenever my friends and i go. and we have to get 2 orders!!!

i usually go with my friends and their 2 kids (2.5 yrs and 8mos) the kids are usually pretty picky and the baby is just starting to eat solid foods. but we all love the luo bo gao. the spicy noodles were my favorite...that is until a few months ago we ordered the luo bo gao for the first time. it was a new item added to the menu....and omg it's delicious. it usually takes the longest to prepare so it always comes out towards the end of the meal....meaning that we are mindful to not overstuff ourselves knowing that this yummy goodness is yet to come.
it's soft and so flavorful...even the baby loves it! it comes out 3 to an order, piping hot, perfectly brown and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. there's so much flavor that you don't even need the sauce really. but the sauce it comes with is delicious as well. there's little bits of meat and baby dried shrimp hidden inside to give little bursts of additional flavor. #nomnomnom

hahaha i guess you'd like to know about the rest of their food :P i haven't had a bad order here before. they have a wide selection of food. steamed, noodles, rice, breakfast items....everything. my friends and i love the spicy noodles. we all get our own bowl (it's a pretty small portion) and then we share everything else. we usually get some xiao long bao, shu mai, drunken chicken (another favorite!), noodles for the kid and depending on how hungry - maybe a fried rice or pot sticker (in addition to 2 orders of luo bo gao) everything's delicious, and we always clear the spread. a little bit pricier but the quality of the food is definitely worth it.

This places combines Taiwanese noodle dishes with HK dim sums to perfection. Their beef broth is flavorful, but not greasy or overpowering. Spice-lovers will also enjoy their spicy dan dan noodles, which have just the right amount of kick without setting off your tear ducts. We are especially partial to their HK style radish cakes, to the point of having to order at least 3 plates for 4 grown ups.

The food is basically very similar to what you'd find at popular Taiwanese chain, Din Tai Fung, but with better (more relaxed) service and fancier decor, but at the same price point. Personally I would rather die at Shi Li An than at Din Tai Fung, because I don't like waiting for a long time for a table and then having my food rushed out afterwards.
