Great meal and experience here - cute, on a vibrant square. Small plates, very good. Relatively small wine list but local and very good

Delicious. Castle takes like chawanmushi in Japan. Smoked salmon was super good. Nice atmosphere. Good wine too.

I've been in Bordeaux for two nights and found this place via Yelp reviews. I was going to give it three stars but the service and atmosphere bumped it up to four. My wife and mother in law had a chorizo potato and cheese cassarole. There's was served pipping hot BUT it had a nutmeg? Spice to it. Very off putting. My daughters both ordered a Muenster cheese cassarole. Ok. Kinda salty, but ok. MY DISH was delightful. I had a duck and cheese cassarole. Very hearty with a smokey flavor. I scraped my bowl whereas the rest of my family just picked at theirs. Price point great. We wonderful attentive server.

Based upon positive yelp reviews, thought a good time to visit in bordeaux.

Conclusion:
- customer service below par (for solo, non french travellers) , as more interested to chat to other staff
- interior is cute
- food and wines are excellent

Ranking is lower, just because of customer service. Location is suitable for larger groups.

Great place. Kind of bohemian with a cozy warm atmosphere. Food was great and we both had a toasted entree. If you buy a bottle of wine you get s cheese plate which was good.

Excellent dinner, dessert, and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't go to the upper level, but the main level inside is set up like a living room. It is fun and inviting.
The staff was friendly and service was quick.
Does not take reservations and the largest table I saw only seats 4. But there are a good number of tables.

Many of the reviews seem outdated. Perhaps this once was the #1 restaurant but today (2018) it is outranked by several of the nearby options. Ambiance = feels old, outdated, and in need of care. Not old in a bohemian way. I seriously don't think they've changed the furniture and pillows in some time. Food = smaller menu than expected and not as good as the plethora of options nearby. We came, we ate, we drank, it was a decent time but don't let the reviews fool you into missing out on the amazing nearby options.

We randomly stubbled on this places and it was a great choice. Upper level seating was very cozy and eclectic. The food was great and the services was exceptional. The menu was short with a focus on cheese dishes however their selection of beverages was great. You cannot go wrong here!

Very nice and original place. The food is affordable and so are the drinks. The staff is nice and friendly! You'll definitely appreciate music choices and decoration! :)
Note that you can't have a drink without eating (alcohol license limitation).

We got drawn into this tourist trap looking for somewhere decent to have a glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon when many places were closed. Obviously they have got used to customers turning up and paying over the odds just due to the location and believe they can be as rude as they want.

The staff member who eventually severed us was very rude when narrowing down which table we must sit at. (You have no options to choose yourself you see) The decor can be described as ramshackle at best and to be honest the place just seemed s bit run down and uncared for.

We persevered with ordering but eventually walked out when we were informed we could have a a glass of wine each or a glass of wine and a food dish each, but not a wine each and a dish to share. All very bizarre and the male waiter serving us was about as ignorant as you get.

One to 100% avoid.
