We ate here after visiting Himeji Castle, and I got chicken curry. The meal included salad, and I ordered an iced mango milk. Adhering to its restaurant name, the curry was very flavorful with so much spice. It had a tangy and savory flavor. It had a little heat, but I didn't find it spicy. While not having my favorite flavor profile for Japanese curry, I still thought my meal tasted good. The milk tasted like mango lassi, but it wasn't as thick. There weren't any people inside when we arrived around 1:30 pm on a Tuesday. The restaurant is a little small, and we sat at the bar.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after another restaurant we tried to visit was closed and I'm so glad. This was the best Japanese curry I've ever had. It's only a few minutes walk from Himeji Castle, tucked down a quieter street. The service was excellent, as was the food. I had the combination curry (3 kinds): so many different flavors! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing lunch in this adorable neighborhood spot after visiting Himeji castle. It's nearby the castle but tucked away on a quieter street, so it is less touristy than many of other lunch options nearby. The interior was warm and inviting with great music. We enjoyed craft beers, several types of their amazing curry with rice, and chai lattes. Would definitely recommend a stop here.

Mild but fragrantly spiced curries. Ordered the pork and my other ordered the vegetarian bean Curry (Dahl). Pepper powder on the table for you to turn it up when you need it. 2 beers and it costs about 3k yen. Great place for a meal after Himeji Castle.

Spice Suehiro is a wonderful little hideaway near Himeji castle with a comfy corner cafe feel. Right away, you are welcomed by the owners who so obviously love what they do. Curry is also popular in Japan, and Spice adds its own twist on Indian-inspired curry. I had a hearty plate of chicken curry and rice with some pickled veggies, along with some mild white cheese melted on top which made the curry a little creamier. It was delicious--very flavorful and the sauce itself was not too heavy or greasy. My Indian friend also proclaimed the flavors to be rather authentic. If you are tired and hungry after Himeji castle, or just hungry, make your way to Spice for a good meal, and be sure to check out Bakery Lamp nearby for some baked goodies. Thanks Spice, my tummy and I will be back for more!

This was the best Japanese curry I have ever had. The servers and cook were wonderful and so attentive. They served craft beer that was only $5 USD and it was delicious. Make sure to order the chai in advance because it takes about 15 minutes to make, but it is well worth the wait! The atmosphere is eclectic but in the coolest way! If I could give 6 out of 5 stars I would! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant after touring the castle. Such a fun day trip!
